Faclan: The Hebridean Book Festival - An Lanntair
Ariel is delighted to be appearing as part of the legendary Faclan Hebridean Book Festival this November. Ariel will be performing her interactive, immersive Gaelic Storytelling Adventure Show 'The Real Goldilocks Story - An Fhìorsgeul mun Nighean Bàn' for the Faclan Òga events, touring schools across Lewis for two days over the festival. This show, first developed in early 2014 for Ariel's second High Life Highland fortnight-long solo tour of Highland schools, has toured widely right across Scotland, covering all Primary Schools in Arran & Islay as well as a vast number of community and particurlarly schools settings for Ariel's 5 two-week solo tours of Highland schools for High Life Highland & the Blas Festival, amongst many, many others. This will also be Ariel's second Storytelling-based tour of Lewis schools, in addition to Ariel featuring as Lead Artist for An Lanntair's Circus Week for Lewis & Harris Gaelic & English-medium Nursery Units in late 2017. Lewis-based Cabraich Arts group also commissioned Ariel in 2016 to create a Lewis-themed show, which went onto become 'Great Gaelic Superheroes', featuring the Blue Men of the Minch, The Northern Lights and other incredible Scottish folkloric characters, drawing direct links between our history and the current focus on Superheroes in contemporary culture. Ariel has previously featured at numerous Literary Festivals in Scotland, including The Wigtown Book Festival (2018), Wee Write (Aye Write) (2016, 2017, 2018), Scottish Storytelling Centre (2015, 2016, 2017), Three Lochs Book & Arts Festival (2016) and Solas Festival (2015, 2017) and looks forward to engaging with more festivals seeking to programme innovative, engaging & high quality Gaelic Storytelling events for children and families to ensure Scotland's vast & rich storytelling heritage is shared with current & future generations.
